The Ford Mustang Boss 302 – 1969 Trans-Am Championship, Parnelli Jones history

Bud Moore’s road-racing experience in NASCAR paid off when Ford appointed Bud Moore Racing to campaign a pair of Boss 302 Mustangs for 1969.

Having been beaten by 14 Championship points to Roger Penske’s Camaro driven by Mark Donahue in 1969, Bud Moore’s team returned with a vengeance in 1970 to win 6 of the 11 races to take the Trans-Am Championship, with drivers Parnelli Jones (No. 15) and George Follmer (No. 16). Jones also enjoyed personal success that season as he picked up the Drivers’ Championship accolade too.
